Associate Professor of Practice
As a current member of the faculty of The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, a key responsibility is providing nursing education for undergraduate and accelerated nursing students through the development of assignments and all course materials for a variety of undergraduate nursing courses. Other responsibilities include providing leadership as course lead and clinical content expert for intermediate and advanced medical- surgical nursing courses, including support of new faculty development in these nursing courses. As course lead, I coordinate delivery and evaluate effectiveness of clinical adjunct faculty for courses with a clinical component.
As a program director, I provide oversight and support for students in the 16-month accelerated BSN program. Responsibilities of this role include coordinating orientation, providing advising and academic support throughout the program, assist students in developing professional skills, preparation for NCLEX, and coordinating Pinning ceremonies.
In addition to my responsibilities as a course lead and program director I participate in several committees including curriculum development, undergraduate research, and new faculty search.

Clinical Faculty
A member of the clinical faculty for Simmons College School of Nursing and Health Sciences since January of 2015. Responsibilities in this role include providing transformational education experiences for undergraduate nursing students in an acute patient care setting. Students participating in the clinical learning experience are in their sophomore year of undergraduate studies. The course is their second general medical surgical course titled "Variations in Health Patterns of the Adult II." During clinical learning experiences students are assisted in development of physical assessment skills, medial administration practices, critical thinking abilities, and professional communication skills required for safe, effective patient care.
Health Assessment Lab Faculty
A member of the health assessment lab faculty at Simmons College School of Nursing and Health Sciences since January of 2015. Responsibilities as a lab faculty member include facilitating students in the application of knowledge of the physical assessments to the practice of physical assessments. During the weekly two hour lab sessions students are provided hands-on opportunities to demonstrate physical assessments of their lab partners, and to communicate findings both verbally and written. Students are provided with direct feedback regarding their assessment techniques and communication skills.
Practicum Teaching Learning Experiences
As a graduate student at Georgetown University each student is required to participate in 275 hours of practicum experience in an educational setting. Practicum experiences were fulfilled at Simmons College School of Nursing and Health Sciences in Boston, Massachusetts. Responsibilities required for the practicum learning experiences include utilizing multiple active learning strategies, and creation of new materials to lead didactic learning experience. Included in this practicum is the opportunity to create a simulation syllabus, including guidelines, learning outcomes, and simulation scenarios which are in alignment with course outcomes, programmatic outcomes, and professional guidelines. Learners for the teaching-learning experiences include undergraduate and pre-licensure direct entry graduate nursing students.
